Bennett is one of those places which is open for everything because of its past reputation. The land is among those towns where Others exist and this means that the humans cannot dominate here. For a very long time there has been an unrest in society because of which the business sector just collapsed. The humans and the Others had issues with each other which were very difficult to solve. After many discussions and meetings the business in the town is reopening because the humans and the Others have decided to live side by side without any enmity.
Together these two halves of society are planning to progress in every field of life. The new sheriff of the town is not a human and the deputy working under his command is a beautiful human girl which is clear evidence that the days of discrimination are over. Among the children of the town there happens to be a blood prophet too.
So it is all happening in this book and between all of this the Blackstone Clan decides to march in. The clan is known for its illegal activities and it has decided to settle in this town where it can gain benefits from both sides. Anne Bishop makes the duty of the sheriff tough because lawlessness is going to hit the town very soon.
Written in Red and Daughter of the Blood could also get someplace with this book on the bookshelf. Alexandra Harris’s voice was the best suited because she did justice to both the groups described in the book. The humans and the Others received different styles but the same tone by the narrator.
