Whatever Luke Daniels narrates, it remains a hit for a very long time. The narrator has a magical touch in the voice as it is so sweet that we cannot just leave it aside. Once anyone starts listening to the story in the voice of Luke Daniels, he cannot resist the temptation which arrests his mind and forces it to complete the book. Roger Zelazny, Lewis Shiner, George R.R. Martin, and Walter Jon Williams have shown their creative genius and talent in The Guns of Avalon before.
All these authors have created stories linked to one single theme which was quite a difficult thing to do but all of them have enjoyed this collective creation. The stories are basically about a virus that spread in the world after the end of an epic war. Not many people survived against the virus but those who survived developed a strange kind of skill in them.
The superhuman strength turned them into new beings who were quite different than ordinary humans. These heroes were named the Wild Cards by the remaining people of the world. Thus the fate or future of the human world falls in the hands of these Wild Cards and they cannot say no to this task as they have nothing else to do with the powers that have been given to them.
New issues arise in the human world and some of them appear to be so grave that the Wild Cards have to use their full strength to tackle the issue. Fantasy is surely at its best in this book and the variety provided by the authors makes the fans listen to the book again and again.
