Sword of Truth has come to the finale now, Richard and Kahlan have been battling for the sake of their world for ages and now they are fighting for themselves. Richard and Kahlan thought that their fates were bound but then they were separated because of the enemy.
Richard does not exist in the real world now but a trace of his existence is still there in the underworld. Kahlan is battling in the world above single-handedly and instead of saving the world this time her primary mission is to bring back the love of her life i.e Richard. For this purpose, she is ready to even sacrifice her existence.
Richard in the underworld has his agenda to fulfill i.e he is trying to save the world like always and is not worried about his fate very much. Both the characters fight individual battles and it is expected that soon they will join hands once again. One thing that is not known is the sacrifice that they have to give to see each other in the real world of flesh and blood.
Goodkind talks about the magical world in an inspiring way, he showed this talent in Wizard’s First Rule and Stone of Tears too. This time the separation of these soul mates becomes heart-touching and sentimental too. Sam Tsoutsouvas was equally well on the task of narrating this story full of love and pangs of separation. At the same time, both characters are seen worried about the safety of the world too which shows that they have not diverted from the main goal.
