Being a king is not an easy job at all, from a distance it seems to be the easiest thing but it is not. Take the example of Eric in this novel who does not want to be the king of the place that has only added trouble to his life. For many years he has been ruling the place near the void and he has faced terrible losses and no gain at all.
He lost the love of his life long ago and now he wants to live an isolated life so that no one can see him anymore. But troubles find him wherever he goes and he has to suffer and bear everything because he has a crown on his head. His enemies are more than the allies and time after time there are new enemies on the scene that come out of nowhere just to make Eric’s life more miserable.
One thing which he has not been able to leave is the throne and the more he has tried the tougher it became for him to leave the throne of authority. Sean Runnette narrates Eric’s character in a sorrowful mood because the man is just suffering and getting no happiness from life. Fugue and Nightlord were painted more dramatically by Garon Whited, the personality of Eric however makes it more awesome than the rest of the novels.
Time is not wasted at any of the spots because the story keeps on moving in a single path which is well chalked out by the author. No errors can be spotted at any place in the novel whether it is the depiction of scenes or narration.
