Vicious

L.J. Shen is a USA Today, Washington Post, Amazon, and Wall Street Journal #1 bestselling author of contemporary romance novels. One of them is Vicious. It is the first book in the Sinners of Saint series. Although based on chronological order, it is the second book. Make sure to try other notable books from the same author, e.g. The Villain and The Kiss Thief.

Savannah Peachwood and Christian Rummel have made this narration an unforgettable one. They surely gave the novel a life with their articulate speech and on point accents.

Vicious is a notorious bad-boy, handsome as they come, and arrogant to no limits. He has a careless persona about him. Still, even such a flawed person has a story behind them. It will take someone special to reach his soft but dormant heart.

Meet Emilia, the daughter of the cheap help hired to take care of Vicious’s father’s estate. She is also the ex-girlfriend of his best friend. Thus, he knows his limits. When she comes face to face with him, he lives up to his name and stomps over her. He forces her to leave the place.

A decade has passed, and he’s back to take Emilia with him. He isn’t taking no for an answer. He thinks he can win her back. Even if she hates him, it doesn’t matter to him. She better get used to him.

Shen has given the old enemies-to-lovers a new touch and a new dimension. The novel features a hero who appears to be a bad boy but has a deep tortured story hidden behind the façade. The gradual buildup of feelings is very realistic in the novel. Nothing happens all of a sudden.
