Even if the listener has never heard of a story or series he can just pick it up without any doubt if he sees Luke Daniels’ name in the narrator’s place. Luke Daniels is one of the rare ones whose voice appeals to you so much that you start concentrating on the story even when you are not interested in it at all. The rise and fall of voice at the appropriate places and then the breaks to show sentiments are just brilliant moves that the narrator possesses.
Kevin Hearne The author of this book has added two short stories in this single book. So there are two benefits in picking up this book i.e you can enjoy the dual flavor and also you can get some rest after ending the first book. The first story gets linked to Hounded as it starts where this previous book ended. Atticus is busy in the war of gods and of course a few monsters.
Then he gets the news that the earth’s elementals are in trouble so he just leaves everything and races towards the earth. War is launched against the forces which wanted to steal the elementals. The second story is attached to the selection of the apprentice in which Atticus does not possess the upper hand. Both stories are equal in fun like Ink & Sigil, the struggle just looks the nonending kind in all of these stories by Kevin.
We cannot call the stories rhythmic because the missions are not interconnected but the fight scenes appear to be the same. Till now Atticus is victorious in almost every battle but there are points where we have seen his weakness too.
