Trapped is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the fifth installment in Iron Druid Chronicles. It is written by Kevin Hearne. He is an American writer of urban fantasy novels who has got nine novels published to his name. Tricked is the most promising and bestselling novel of the author. He was also highly appreciated and loved for his Hounded novel.
The audio narration of Trapped is done by Luke Daniels. He unnecessarily switched his narration style in this novel as compared to the previous one. This didn’t work well and it became a difficult listen for the listeners.
After 12 years of extensive, secret training, Atticus was eventually ready to bind Granuaile, his apprentice to the earth. Atticus wanted to double up the count of the Druids on the planet Earth. But, right on the ritual eve, the entire world which presumed him to be dead abruptly found him still alive. They would rather want him to return to the grave.
Atticus had no alternate choice at all. Oberon was his highly trusted Irish wolfhound. Oberon traveled to the Mount Olympus base along with Granuaile. It was that place where Bacchus, the Roman god was highly determined to take his sworn revenge. But, for that, he had to get behind an old god of mischief, an ancient vampire, and a bank of elves. They all looked to have killed the Druid which was right at the top of their to-do lists.
The book was not as good as the last one. However, it is good enough to get you going with the series. Things could have been much better if the narration was a little better from Luke Daniels.
