Stephanie Plum does not only attract the men of her choice towards herself, but she also attracts dangerous and deadly monsters towards herself as well. For years life has been going on in the same way and Plum thinks that she has been handling everything quite well. Perhaps she has attracted too much on this occasion which is coming her way and she has to face it as there is no solution like running away or hiding.
Her cousin Vinnie is the one for whom Plum starts working in this episode and she is given a task to find Samuel Singh for whom Vinnie has posted bail. Samuel has vanished all of a sudden and there is no trace of his hideout. Some think that he has been abducted by a monster while others are of the view that he has been running away in this manner since the beginning.
One way or the other, Plum has to find the man because this is the task that has been given to her and she must fulfill it at any cost. Janet Evanovich has more surprises for all of us in the middle of this story because evil comes to the surface in the middle of the story. Stephanie Plum thinks that she has chosen the wrong case because the threat of life is looming on her head all the time.
Lorelei King has kept one thing in mind while narrating this part i.e to keep it real slow so that the audience can understand the secrets woven into the fabric of the story. Wicked Appetite and Going Rogue could have been equal in length to this book, perhaps Janet wanted this book to appear longer in the length than the other two.
