Phil Gigante is the phenomenal narrator of this audiobook. Although there were female characters in the novel, he doesn’t even let us feel the lack of a female voice actor.
Gavrael McIllioch abandoned his name and his Highland castle to escape the dark fate of his ancestors. He was born to a clan of warriors of unimaginable strength. He thus decided to hide his identity and went around as Grimm. He intended to protect the people he loved, especially Jillian St. Clair, the woman he loved.
He kept his eyes on her from afar. He answered the call when her father sent a summon. He was to compete for her hand in marriage. He didn’t like the games her father was playing. He wanted to abduct her right away. Why was she being offered a prize in her father’s manipulative schemes? Jillian vowed never to wed, but Grimm pleaded with her to marry someone else. Now, fate had to intervene to bring together two fateful lovers.
This is probably better than the first one. The author has tackled the inconsistencies of the first one and delivered a better tale. This book has a rich plot with alluring characters.
