Brandon Sanderson has written the book – The Well of Ascension. It is a fantasy book and is the second of the Mistborn series. The first book in the series is The Final Empire and the third book in the series is The Hero of Ages written by the same author.
Michael Kramer is the narrator of this book. His voice goes very well with the world that Brandon’s pen has created. You would enjoy the book and be remorseful at its end. Some might perceive plot holes in the novel but they are only revealed through intensive nitpicking.
The novel starts as impossible has been achieved. The man who had mighty claims of god incarnate has been defeated. The man who had been ruling the world ruthlessly for a thousand years – The Lord Ruler – has finally been vanquished.
However, things are not as smooth as desired. The hero behind the mighty triumph, Kelsier, is also dead. Now, Vin, his protégé will have the task of building the world anew. The job fells in the hand of this former street urchin, who has now achieved the status of the greatest Mistborn in the land. Along with Vin is her idealistic young nobleman lover.
Ever since Vin was revered by the budding new religion, she has been feeling increasingly uncomfortable. There is trouble in the air, even after the death of the Lord Ruler. The mists have been behaving unusually and seem to hold a mysterious entity that still haunts her.
As three armies try to conquer the land, Vin and her crew must learn a new set of practical and political skills to survive this ordeal. At this point, stopping petty assassins may be the least of her problems, in the face of this insurmountable siege that has hit their city.
