Changing jobs is not a good option in life especially when you are satisfied with the previous one. Author Pirateaba forces the poor girl named Erin to change her job in this novel when the situation around her changes at once. Erin used to run an Inn and that was her skill, she liked serving people things like pasta and fruit juice. The action was something she wasn’t attracted to ever in her professional life.
But when she is transported to another world accidentally she is forced to adapt some things for her survival. The first thing among these is a life full of action as there are dangerous dragons outside ready to eat her as a treat. Not only this some monsters stalk their prey and then enjoy eating it limb by limb.
Humans are there in this world but they are not ruling the land anymore rather they are one of the weak creatures who are always on the run for their survival. The days of table manners and serving people are over for Erin and that’s why Andrea Parsneau changes her accent too in narration at this stage.
A listener should listen to The Wandering Inn before this and he would be compelled to listen to The Wandering Inn, Book 3 after this. All the volumes of this series are specially written for the kids who like fun and action going side by side. It is not one of those horrible stories full of monsters that would scare you at night rather the monsters in it are appealing for the young minds. Erin’s character has a shift in it which also gives the concept of “adapt or perish”.
