The Varlet and the Voyeur

The Varlet and the Voyeur is a contemporary romance novel. The book is chapter four of Rugby novel series. It is written by Penny Reid and coauthored by L. H. Cosway. Penny Reid is a fulltime researcher of the biotech domain and a part-time romance writer.

She has done phenomenally well in writing for being a part-timer only and especially in giving novels like Attraction: Bad Boy New Adult Romance. She has also written excellent mystery thrillers such as her novel, Engagement and Espionage.

The narration of this novel is done by Paul Corning and Jennifer O’Brien. They both were terrible in their part. The male narrator was bad with Irish accent while female was not good with American voices. All the characters sounded the same.

William Moore was quite far away from home. He is an Oklahoma based farm boy and also an integral part of the Irish rugby team. But, it was his appearances which were almost always deceptive. William is not at all a clean cut. He is imagined by everyone as an all-American god boy. He has a definite secret. It is a secret big enough to dent his reputation forever.

Then comes Josey Kavanagh, who was a self-proclaimed mess. She is trying hard to get her act together. She had her eyes set on becoming a veterinarian. But, there was a definite obstacle there. All of her living setting were coming to a highly abrupt end. Josey would soon be homeless and would require a job to pay her bills.

This is a 5-star book especially for its writing and cast of characters. You will find the male lead to be incredibly sexy and charismatic. Everything was good about this book but it was the narration that ruined this audiobook. It was bad with the inability to grab the right accents.
