The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry Audiobook
Those who want to know the true meaning of a pilgrimage must come close and listen to the narration done by Jim Broadbent in an awesome style. Harold retired from his hectic job and he was thinking of spending some time with his wife but it was not possible because his wife was constantly busy with other things. Maureen is the name of Harold’s wife and she seems to be sick and tired of the man.
Whenever he is in the house, his wife gets an irritating feeling and she wants him to find some other job so that he can stay out for a while. One day Harold goes to the door and finds a letter written by Queenie Hennessy. The woman had not spoken to Harold for the last twenty years and now that letter meant a lot to the man.
He wanted to answer the letter at once because it appeared that the woman was dying within a few days. When Harold went outside to post the letter as quickly as possible he thought that he would feel happier if he gives the letter to the lady by the hand. So without thinking about his wife, Harold starts the journey toward the countryside barefoot. The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy is also linked to it thus both of these books are about true love in a relationship.
As Harold moves forward, he starts meeting different characters which makes him remember something from his own life. Rachel Joyce also tells the audience about Maureen who finally starts missing her husband and starts to walk toward the countryside in his search. A few characteristics of Miss Benson’s Beetle are also found in the female characters of this novel. Thus there is something for everyone in this novel.
