The second part of the series comes with more amazement for the audience. Justin Cronin painted the destruction of the world in The Passage. This time he has taken it to the next level where the human race witnesses something more threatening. The world was brought down to its knees by the incorrect experiment by the government.
It was not a war that ended the hopes of the human world rather it was just an experiment which spread infection all around the globe. Now there are a few survivors left and the rest of humanity is suffering from the terrible infection which is killing them very slowly. Among these survivors, there is Lila who is a doctor by profession and she is expecting as well. The woman wants to see her newborn child in a healthy condition and she does not want the infection or the infected to come close to her baby.
For this purpose, she is trying to go away from the fuss of the city and her hopes are on the gas truck which is carrying her away. There is another female who is a teenager and her name is April. She wants to protect her little brother under all circumstances. So these three characters are in search of hope which they are going to find somewhere far. If they fail then this would be the end of civilization for them.
The last part of the series The City of Mirrors is also narrated by Scott Brick just like this one. The fate of humanity will get decided in the third and final part of the trilogy. This one adds to the chaos more than the previous part of the series.
