No listener can raise any kind of issue against the narration when R.C. Bray and Julia Whelan are in control of the narration. They have given an outclass performance in books like Match Game and Fortitude.
However it is not only because of the previous performance that the two narrators are famous, actually they always come out with their best performance. Lou Diamond Phillips paints a soldier who never wanted to be a part of the big war. When Everson goes to the enemy’s territory for his first fight, he is left alone behind the enemy lines. Stranded and no way to go, Everson decides to stand up for his own survival also there was no other way for the poor lad. On the desert, Everson runs alone with the Tinderbox in his hands.
The Tinderbox is said to have some sort of ancient powers that can change the course of any battle. While on the run, Everson gets the chance to confront the daughter of the mad king.
Allegra was also running from her people and was equally in danger like Everson. Allegra’s father i.e the king wanted her dead for so many reasons.
When Everson and Allegra meet each other, it is like love at first sight for them.
Though they know that their people have been enemies for centuries but they are unable to control the appeal which is aroused between them when they see each other. Together the two start finding a solution to end the war forever.
