The Summerhouse is a contemporary romance novel. It is the first chapter of the Summerhouse novel series which is written by Jude Deveraux. She is an American writer who is known for writing historical and contemporary romance books. She had written more than 40 novels and quite a few of them made to the bestselling list of New York Times. One top novel from the author is A Knight in Shining Armor which is loved for its beautiful story. You might also like her Lavender Morning novel which is equally as good as the first one.
The narration of this chapter is done by Melissa Hughes. It was a delightful listen and you will love her for the great accent and superb expression with tonal quality.
The story starts with the description of three besties who also shares the same birthday as well. They are just about to turn 40, obviously on the same day for the reasons told earlier. Leslie Headrick, Ellie Abbot, and Madison Appleby are looking to celebrate their day at the superb summerhouse which was located in Maine. They are taking with them the stock of their lives including their wishes, loves, and all of the choices. But, none of the three expected to have the gift which was waiting for them at their summerhouse. It was the chance for each one of them to their desires into reality.
The book is good and the twist in the middle of the book was weird and probably should have been kept for later. This novel from Jude is a blockbuster bestseller and should not be missed if you are a fan of the author and/ or the contemporary romance novels.
