The Selection

The Selection is the first installment in The Selection novel series. It is a Teen & YA romance novel written by Kiera Cass. She has done pretty well to bring her literary career to this state where her The Elite and The Heir novels are enjoying so much success. The Selection series is her best-known work so far with many tempting installments.

Amy Rubinate’s performance in this novel was not natural. Rather, her voice sounded mechanical which was not able to bring any emotion and expression at all.

The Selection is once in a lifetime chance for the 35 girls in there. It is a kind of opportunity for them to flee away from an inflexible caste system. It was a case of earning the chance to live in a palace and compete for winning the heart of Prince Maxon, who is a very handsome guy. But, things were quite different for America Singer. Her Selection was nothing short of a nightmare for her. Her selection in other words means to have her back turned on Aspen who is her secret lover. But, he is also someone who is one level below her in the caste system America Singer is competing for a crown which she is not looking to get or want. But, things spin around when she met Prince Maxon.

The Selection indeed has a very predictable story. But, still, it was great fun. There were some beautiful lines written by Kiera Cass and that made the whole novel look so good. Unfortunately, the vocal performance by Amy was quite flat and didn’t impress the audience at all.
