Two treasure hunters with a lot of experience in the field are still not able to find the biggest treasure of their life. Tate and her father are the best treasure hunters in the world but they haven’t been able to track Angelique’s Curse which is an amulet linked to history and some legends which should never be found.
Tate and her father think that they have the skill to handle any kind of hurdle which comes their way so they start their journey and this time they hire guides in the form of Buck and Matthew. The two guides not only know the area very well but also have a connection with the lost treasure.
The Caribbean waters bring the terror of a different type for them and soon this group comes to know that they are not the only ones who are after the treasure. When everything gets dark and Tate finds no way out of the troubles which she has brought on herself, she thinks that she should force Matthew to tell her the truth about his connection with the treasure.
Matthew seems to be the only hope for Tate in this time of need and he suddenly stops telling her anything further. It is visible that Matthew is trying to keep Tate away from a certain thing. Perhaps for the first time, Nora Roberts does not add love at once. Bed of Roses and Identity promoted love at once so Nora has tried not to follow the thing here. Sandra Burr waited or a long time to narrate the romance in the novel because it comes quite late.
