The Promise

The Promise is the 5th chapter of the Thunder Point novel series. It is written by Robyn Carr. She is the bestselling novelist of as many as fifty of her novels. You must try out her Virgin River novel which will tell about the abilities of the author. Shelter Mountain is the second installment of the Virgin River novel series which will make a great read one after the other.

The narration of this book is done by Therese Plummer who is one of the finest to give strong narrations of audiobooks.

Scott Grant is the one with a very bustling family practice in the Oregon community which was in Thunder Point. All of the people of the town have embraced the widowed doctor and the father of two. His kids are blossoming and Scott is well aware that it is the right time to move on and get over his loss. But, as the only available doctor in the town, the dating pool is quite limited. That remains the case only until the time, a stunning assistant of the physician applies for a vacancy in his clinic.

Peyton Lacoumette thinks about herself completely out of the dating scene. She has been married already with someone having kids. She has come to Thunder Point with the hope of not repeating any of her mistakes in the past life. When she is offered a job by Scott, Peyton was a bit reluctant to accept this job with a very low salary. Both Peyton and Scott knew that it is just a temporary arrangement and they don’t have good enough time to develop a relationship.

The story of this book was just fine. The author didn’t do well with the lead character development who always seemed to be unlikable and self-centered.
