The Obsession is a romantic suspense novel. The book is written by Nora Roberts. In recent times, there are very few writers who could write romance better than Nora Roberts. Year One is a very good example of her type of work., The Right Path is another outstanding book that Nora Roberts has written.
The audio narration of The Obsession is done by Shannon McManus. The narration, in the beginning, was fine but then it became too much overdone.
The innocence of Naomi Bowes was lost at the very night when she followed right after her father into the woods. While freeing a girl stuck in the root cellar, she revealed the horrible extent of the crimes of her father and made him infamous. No matter, how much she could get close to happiness, she just couldn’t manage to outrun the sins of Thomas Bowes.
Naomi then became a successful photographer and assumed the name, Naomi Carson. She found a new place that used to call her. It was a rambling old house that needed repair. It was thousands of miles away from all that she had ever known. She wanted to accept that solitude but the inhabitants of Sunrise Cove kept pushing her to open up. It was especially true for Xander Keaton.
Naomi could well feel that all of her defenses started to fail badly and she also knew that the connection offered by her new life was something that she secretly craved for a long. But then again, the sins of her father could easily become an obsession and she had learned that it wouldn’t leave her presence.
The Obsession is an excellent novel. The storyline of the stalker did add some bit of extra spice to the novel but it became predictable.
