Mickey Haller is quite familiar with success, this is something that he always gets at the end of a case in the courtroom. For years he has proved his worth in the field and he is treated as a legend in the field. Being an attorney he knows all the ropes and is unbeatable under all circumstances. This time the enemy attacks from behind and traps Haller in a serious case at the end of his success in the court.
Haller was in a mood of celebration after winning big in the court but on the same night, he is arrested because a dead body is found in his car. Haller knows that he has been framed but he cannot prove this in front of the judge who fines him five million dollars in case of bail.
So there is no bail for the good lawyer either because he does not possess such a huge amount of money. In the jail room, he decides to deal with his case on his own but there are other issues in the jail that are of serious tone too. Harry Bosch is the only one Haller trusts and he leaves all the outside jobs to Bosch.
Michael Connelly has brought his two major characters to this book and they are doing their best to catch the one behind the murder. Two Kinds of Truth is really extreme in action and Desert Star is also parallel in the storyline these two books are waiting for you after this story. Don’t forget to leave the narration by Peter Giles unappreciated as it has played its role brilliantly.
