The Hookup

The Hookup is a contemporary romance novel written by Kristen Ashley. She is a bestselling author and has written more than sixty romance titles including Wildest Dreams and Dream Chaser. This one, however, is the story of two individuals who have gone through heartache, drama, and loss. These two individuals are looking for their soul mate, through ups and downs, hurdles, and disagreements. It is also the first book in the Moonlight and Motor Oil series.

The novel has been handled by the duo of Lance Greenfield and Stella Bloom. They’ve given satisfactory performances. They bring their characters to life. It enhances the experience of listening to a very mesmerizing tale. However, the female is better than the male in this case. She just comes off as more natural. Sometimes, the male narrator overreacts and shouts at certain parts. That can be a bit jarring.

Eliza Forrestor is the new girl in town. When she hits the local club, she expected to return home. Instead, she wakes up the next day in Johnny Gamble’s bed. All of a sudden, good girl Izzy likes being bad for Johnny.

Johnny is meant for someone else though. He has already given his heart to someone else, who left him. The next girl is just vying for the runner-up medal. Still, Izzy wants whatever she can get from Johnny. Neither can he stay from her, even when the long lost lover returns to his life.

Give Izzy and Johnny’s love story a try. You will be mesmerized reading their scenes together, showing perfect chemistry and harmony. It is written by an author who knows what she’s doing. She adds the right amount of drama, tension, and nervousness in each scene.
