The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society Audiobook
This is not just a novel rather it is a book that is linked to the history of the world. The book tells us about the impact of the Second World War on the life of the people. A writer named Juliet was staying in London during the year 1946 and she was looking for subject material for her new creation. At this time she was not ready to receive a letter from a man whom she has never met. The man was from the island of Guernsey and he came to know about Juliet through a book.
The two got the formal introduction through letters that they were sending to each other and then the man introduced Juliet to the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. The society had a lot of members and it was forged during the era of the war when the Germans tried to occupy the island.
These members worked courageously under the curfew in order to keep their culture and love for literature alive. Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows take us to an old era where everything is different because it has been affected by war.
Paul Boehmer, John Lee, Juliet Mills, and Rosalyn Landor also narrated quite sensibly because they were aware of the progress of the story. After getting to know a lot about society, Juliet decides to go to the island on her own. When she reached the place she was amazed to see everything with her own eyes. Deine Juliet will also be not that hard to understand because the stories are written in clear language.
