Life is a hot mess for the protagonist at 27. She had dreams of becoming a real estate agent and paying her rent on time. It doesn’t look like that is happening anytime soon. She has decided that she is too good for the guys in town, instead of settling for two guys that will never leave her side, Ben and Jerry. However, everything changes when Dr. Adam Foxe becomes the new resident of the town.
Everyone is intrigued along with our heroine. She fails to strike up a good conversation and leave a good first impression. However, he gives her a second chance, as he makes a proposal she can’t refuse, where she has to play with his girlfriend.
The novel is good but it doesn’t reach the standard of other novels by the author. Most of that is because of the heroine, who has been shown as a jealous and insecure person. The hero also doesn’t have many redeeming qualities. He deflects blame and he’s cold. Besides these apparent character flaws, the rest of the novel isn’t that bad.
