Earthsea started with the introduction of Ged i.e the wizard who stood against the chaos when it approached the land. The darkness started engulfing the land very quickly and no one was safe from this strange demonic force. Ged didn’t have the full potential to shift the balance of power on his side but he still stood chin up and decided to fight against the approaching devil. For years the young wizard has fought against those forces and has kept on surviving heavy attacks too.
Going into the labyrinth was a terrible thing to do because many thought of it as a suicidal mission, Ged somehow managed to get out of the labyrinth alive. After that suicidal mission, Ged in this third part decides to travel towards the core of darkness which happens to be the original cause of the entire chaos. That darkness has eaten up all the magic from Earthsea and only destroying it would bring everything back to normal.
So the journey begins and on the way, Ged meets friend and foe now and then. He is not the young wizard that he once used to be in the beginning, now he has become a mature person who has full control over his powers and knows what is needed to solve the big problem.
Ursula K. Le Guin has allowed the main character to evolve more and more in every episode and Rob Inglis has changed to the voice of the main character too, to show his development. The Left Hand of Darkness and Tales from Earthsea kind of stories never make the audience feel any kind of boredom at all. These are the stories that will always come up with something new for everyone.
