The narration of this audiobook has been performed by CJ Bloom and Beckett Greylock. They don’t disappoint as they perform throughout the book. It makes for a good listening experience. It was the worst blind date Josephine had been on until Holden Winters swooped in and saved the day. Holden is a descendant of the notorious Winter’s family. He is gorgeous, brilliant, and wealthy. He doesn’t date computer science grads in a hoodie who don’t feel comfortable in couture. He dates socialites and pop stars.
Holden doesn’t need to steal other guy’s dates. He just gives them a look and the woman melts. Then he sees Josephine sitting with a dweeb as her date. He thinks she deserves better than that guy, somehow to appreciate her brain and lush curves. However, when she ghosts Holden, he’s shocked. Women never walked away from him so this was a first. What she doesn’t know is that a Winter’s man gets what he wants, one way or another. Ultimately, Josephine and Holden’s night together was a mistake along with being a fantasy.
The book sure is hot but there is no chemistry between the hero and heroine. It is all about lust and sex. If the writer had intended to convince us of their love, then more depth was required between the two.
