These are two books combined in a single binding thus continuous enjoyment can garnish the day of the audience. Ayrion wanted to rise like a true hero and for this sole purpose, he started training at a very early age. The boy was so much committed that he didn’t take part in any other activity throughout his life. It was his dream to become the alpha of the clan but fortune didn’t favor the brave this time and his home was destroyed in a serious mishap. Later the boy started living almost the life of a peddler as he had no place to go.
After wandering here and there for a while he decided to go to Aramoor where the future can be rewritten as he will get another chance to start his life. To reach the wall of the city, Ayrion faced extreme cruelty as he got robbed on many occasions and then was almost beaten down to death.
Somehow he managed to reach the city wall and when he entered the city, the situation was not very different. The streets were full of criminals and evildoers who showed no mercy towards the weak. Michael Wisehart has painted the life of a boy who wants something more from his life. It is Tim Gerard Reynolds who narrates the struggling condition of the boy to precision.
At no point does the boy gets scared rather he acts like those heroes we saw in Plague of Shadows and The White Tower. Both books talk about the struggling phase of the boy and the good thing is that though he is beaten his will is not rusty at all.
