Lorelei King likes providing a voice to the stories where there is a lot of action. This series is perfect for the narrator because this has action and a few scenes of love and commitment which serve as the topping of the big story. Mercedes Athena Thompson Hauptman is a simple car mechanic for the world of humans but originally she is a shape-shifter who can turn into a coyote at her own will. There was a time when she was alone but now she has become the mate of the Alpha of the pack that is ruling the Columbia Basin.
This is not just a relation rather it is a full time job that is on Thompson’s shoulders. She has to keep the pack united and safe at the same time. Moreover, the pack promised the world of humans that it will keep the humans safe as well under all kinds of circumstances. The fae creatures have tried to enter the human world on many occasions and getting rid of those goblins or zombie goats was not a problem for the werewolf pack.
Now, something strange is coming, something which they call Death, and fighting that kind of power is not an easy thing for the pack. Patricia Briggs has given an uphill task to the pack in this story and all the members of the pack might not come out alive of this mission.
They have shown commitment in Night Broken and Silence Fallen but this is different. Death will not show mercy to anyone whether it is humans or werewolves. The pack can run away from the fight because it is not their fight but they have made promises and they are not running away from it.
