Ben Stiger got only one thing as a legacy from his past i.e disgrace and nothing else. His ancestors only received disgrace from society but this didn’t break the young soldier. He marched on and showed commitment to rebuilding the legacy once again. Due to his high-class performance, he got a difficult assignment on the Southern border. On that side of the border, the enemy was successful in occupying an important post and the army on Ben’s side was not well trained to fight back.
When Ben reached the place with his lieutenant Eli, he thought that it was a dead-end for him because the company that he has been given was totally out of shape. The soldiers didn’t have the talent to fight against the skilled enemy. So Ben instead of fighting against the enemy pays more attention to training the soldiers first.
When the company is trained, they decide to march forward, and soon Ben realizes that he is not fighting against ordinary soldiers. The enemy possesses relic magic and much more which they start using against Ben and his men. The author Marc Alan Edelheit gives Ben a huge responsibility in this story.
Failure would be like the kind we saw in The Tiger and Stiger, for the hero. With an inexperienced company on his side, Ben takes a bold step and decides that the time has come to rewrite his legacy in a better way. His life provides him an awesome chance to prove his worth but at the same time, there is a danger that he might lose everything and will turn into dust along with his company.
