Slightly Wicked

Slightly Wicked is a Regency fiction and historical romance novel written by author Mary Balogh. It is the 2nd book of the Bedwyn Saga series. It is preceded by Slightly Married. Mary is a 35 times New York Times bestseller owing to her more than seventy novels and thirty novellas. She has won numerous awards including being a finalist for the Quill Award. She also has seven Waldenbooks Awards and two B. Dalton Awards. If you’re looking to read more of her books, consider Someone to Love.

Rosalyn Landor is the narrator of this audiobook. Those familiar with this name know what she stands for, especially in the genre of historical romances. She is quite accomplished and hardly fails to deliver top-tier performance.

Lord Rannulf Bedwyn was a hard man to resist, especially with his laughing eyes and sexy looks. He was just a person in time of her need, as he rescued Judith Law. Her stagecoach overturned and he turned out to be her savior. Thus, they indulged in one night of passion before she had to leave and become a companion to her wealthy aunt.

Judith was quite shocked when he turned out to be one of England’s most eligible bachelors. When he arrived in Harewood to woo her cousin, Judith couldn’t help but fantasize about him. He also hadn’t forgotten about his passionate lover. Now, they try to bring back the time of their reckless night once again.

There’s bound to be something for everyone in this book, be it romance, mystery, revenge, deceptions, betrayals, sex, malice, or familial love. The first half of the book did seem a bit uncomfortable but it is all quite well in the end.
