The narration of the audiobook is performed by Khristine Hvam. She has a nice voice and accurate accents. Her inflections are also on-point.
Alexis has agreed to work with a Demigod, Keiran. Her job is to find the spirit of his mother, especially before the vengeful father finds out and sends them all to hell. She must have lost her mind about accepting this job. Nonetheless, she doesn’t have to approach it alone.
Keiran has also brought in Bria Stevens. She is everything Alexis isn’t. She is edgy, experienced, and magically savvy. She loves to flirt with danger as a Necromancer. With her help, Alexis can figure out the clues surrounding the mother, all the while learning about her magic potential.
However, as they work in the magical San Francisco, they encounter a minefield waiting to explode. Alexis will find out that there are far worse things than death.
It always makes for a good story when authors come up with new ways to add twists to a story with the ancient gods. The cause of the characters is also admirable. There is probably too much sex in the book. At some point, you have to question whether it is playing any role in the advancement of the plot.
