The narration by Khristine Hvam is second to none. She did a phenomenal job varying her voice to represent different characters from the beginning. This set the tone for the rest of the story.
Alexis doesn’t want a life full of drama. People usually have a lot of drama in their life but she lives in a forgotten corner of the world to avoid it. There’s a certain safety in anonymity. She has plenty of problems just trying to get by.
All of a sudden, Kieran, a sexy demigod crashes into her life. He is at the pinnacle of his power and he turns her world upside down. He starts thinking that Alexis is the key to his salvation. He holds a secret, one that could destroy everything he holds dear. As he wants her to help him claim his vengeance, he also desires her with a passion. He does something to her body such that it burns with passion from the inside out. To give in to his desires will only spell doom and trouble for Alexis.
This is a slow-developing story since there is plenty of description about events and characters. Nonetheless, once it does into the thick of the story, it blows our mind. It is a thoroughly enjoyable read.
