Christine Feehan writes a book after detailed planning, the author never leaves any weak links in the plot or the story. Fictional stories need a proper background because a story that starts out of nowhere is bound to mislead the fans and also proper trust of the listeners is not created. The novel by Christine takes care of all these things and that’s why Stefano Ferraro’s family gets a very long introduction. The man belongs to the family of shadow riders’ i.e those who can deal with the light and the dark.
The family is engaged in legal and illegal business of which no one has full proof. Many have tried to get to the weak links in the family but none has succeeded to bring the empire down which is created by the family. Stefano likes cars and women and these two are the things on which he spends most of his time and money.
There is no car or woman in society to which he cannot reach and then Francesca Cappello comes to the town. The woman has faced heavy losses in business and she is looking to settle in this new place. When Stefano sees her for the first time he knows that he must have her at any cost.
Getting close to women is not difficult for him but this woman is hiding big secrets because of which she cannot allow Stefano to get any closer. Jim Frangione narrated Shadow Storm and Murder at Sunrise Lake after this but this first performance can still be considered the best among the lot. Book can be considered a masterpiece in all respects and the best way to listen to it is in isolation.
