Brandon Sanderson has written many stories in his career and the author is known for the long series that he can create out of nowhere. The series linked to the Mistborn stands tall among the rest of the stories which the author has produced over the years. The series is about a person who gets to know about his powers and the true origin of his powers quite late in life.
Initially, he is seen as a villain or a thief, and then in the dungeons, he starts using his powers and finally understands the purpose behind the thing. The gathering of the army and then the confrontation of the Mistborn with the evil lord showed the true strength of the author’s creation. Although the story or the entire series was epic many listeners were of the view that the author never presented a background for the series.
There were details that weren’t ample at times and people developed certain doubts about the story which got resolved later on. Michael Kramer was the official narrator of the story and here he has narrated this history book as well. It is not with a proper plot like Shadows of Self and The Original rather we can treat it as a book with information that can help in the understanding of the Mistborn series.
If you are not listening to the series along with this book then it will be of no use at all. This is connected to the series and does not possess an independent worth because it does not possess a separate story or purpose. For the old fans, it is more like a gift that they had demanded many times.
