The protagonists in her books are usually African-American where one such book from the author is The Wedding Date which tells the gripping story of Alexa, a black woman. The Proposal novel by jasmine got the bestselling spot in New York Times in 2019.

The narration of this novel is done by Janina Edwards. The narrator had an awful British accent which was neither suitable to the characters nor effective.

Vivian Forest was out of the country for a maximum of one time only. When she got another chance to be tagged along with Maddie, her daughter to England, she couldn’t refuse the opportunity. Maddie was going for some work which was about the styling of a member of the royal family.

It was an exciting opportunity for Vivian for spending her holidays in the beautiful British sights. But, one thing that she didn’t expect was to become attracted instantly to a private secretary.

It was more so because of his unyielding formality and charming accent. The man was Malcolm Hudson. He had worked for the Queen for many years and he has never given any private or personal tour. He got intrigued by Vivian right after he meets her and was seen making excuses just to get some time to spend with her. It all started with some flirt and light banter, which soon turned into a kiss.

The book is fantastic with the quality of its romance. It is a quite refreshing romantic story for the grownups. You wouldn’t find the characters to be sappy and the tale progressed in a very realistic and fun manner.
