Penelope Featherington is smitten by the charm of Colin Bridgerton just like everyone else in London. She has adored the brother of her best friend for quite a time now. She used to think she knew everything about him until she discovers his dark secrets.
Colin is tired of being thought of as the empty-minded charmer. Everyone consumes every word that gossip columnist Lady Whistledown writes. He also can’t seem to get Penelope out of his mind. However, he discovers that she has secrets of her own. Either she could be a big threat to him, or she could be his ultimate promise of a happy ending.
This is quite an addicting series and this book is a worthy addition to it. Julia has brilliantly interwoven the romances of the Bridgerton family into a series and we get to witness it all. This book did suffer from one issue which is that women appeared to be weak and insecure while the men were generally arrogant and entitled. It doesn’t seem like a fair representation. Other than that it is an enjoyable experience.
