Pucked

Helena Hunting is a Canadian author and the bestselling one in USA Today and New York Times. She is a fine talent when it comes to writing engaging contemporary romance novels. Pucked is one of them. The book is the opening novel of the series with the same name as Pucked. If we take a further look at other novels from Helena, then the most desirable ones are Kiss My Cupcake and Handle with Care.

The narration has a dual POV with performances by John Mclaren and Muffy Newtown. Muffy was an exception with her part of the performance but Mclaren was not that good. It looked like the book should have been narrated entirely by Muffy as her voice is more suitable with this type of novel and characters.

Violet Hall is the stepsister of a renowned NHL player. She is well versed with his playboy reputation as a hockey star. So, she isn’t as such too much interested in Alex Waters, who is a legendary team captain. He got nice facial features and six-pack abs kind of a muscular body. But, the time when Alex obliterates the misapprehension of Violet related to the intellect of the hockey stars, things started to change. Violet finds out how good Alex is having the hockey stick within his trousers.

In no time, he became too difficult for Violet to ignore as they got physical after having lots of calls and texts to start with. But, the problem is the media who projects Alex as a player and Violet is not interested to be part of any game.

It is a smoking hot romance novel. It will make you laugh out loud as well. The quirky characters seem quite real. The performance of the female narrator is top-notch. The male character was over-trying with the accents which didn’t work at all for the listeners.
