Protecting Summer is a contemporary romance book written by Susan Stoker. It is the fourth book in the SEAL of Protection series. It is a series that features hot Navy SEALS with suspenseful scenes. Stella Bloom has narrated this book. She does an outstanding job with all the characters. She needs to work a bit on her guy’s voice though, as it plays an important part in this series with a lot of male character dialogue.

Sam “Mozart” Reed’s life changed instantly when her sister was discovered abused and murdered when he was 15. He made a vow to avenge his sister. He spent the next 19 years trying to track down the murderous serial killer. He lost his family because of this man. He starts using his SEAL training and connections to search for him.

Mozart finally thinks he has tracked him, in a town known as Big Bear, California. Meanwhile, Summer Pack is working at a trashy motel. She has lost all hope in life. She wants to live life in a better, more meaningful way. As she is living in this unhealthy situation, she comes across a man who she has always dreamed about. This man will do everything it takes to fulfill his words. Turns out that a killer is indeed hiding in Big Bear, and he’s waiting for the next perfect target to appear in front of him.

This book is dramatic and eye-opening with its characters. It shows us that life can turn upside down in a moment. It is a realistic and riveting book.
