Pestilence is a fantasy fiction and romance novel authored by Laura Thalassa. It is the first book of The Four Horsemen series and was nominated for the Goodreads Choice Awards Best Romance. The audiobook is somewhat carried by the brilliant narration of Susannah Jones. There aren’t many bright spots besides this woman and her immaculate speech. Her portrayal of the heroine, with realistic thoughts and humorous cursing, was quite amusing.

When they came to earth – Pestilence, War, Famine, Death – the four horsemen raced all corners of the earth on their screaming steeds. They had to power to destroy all of humanity and they came to end us all.

When Pestilence makes Sara Burn’s town his target, Sara knows one thing for sure: everyone she knows is marked for death. However, she has planned that she will do her best to stop the angelic-looking horseman. That’s what she had in mind when she shot the beast off his steed.

It didn’t do anything to the unholy beast. Was she not told that Pestilence can’t be killed? Now he is angry and taker her prisoner. No one had told him that he would be falling in love with her in no time.

This book has more sexy scenes than one can count. It takes away from the real purpose of the novel. The scenes don’t add up to much but maybe that is intentional. If you’re looking for a simple and hot story with low expectations, you can check out this novel.
