Nick Hayes is a genius who is short of time as death is approaching this teenager at a quick pace. There is nothing the boy can do about it so he decides to stop and wait for his upcoming death. Also, he tries to busy himself in a virtual reality game which he usually plays with his friends in his spare time. As the day of death approaches near, a girl named Mia enters Nick’s life and he does not know the reason.
The girl is super attractive and she makes the virtual reality so real for the entire team that they for a moment think that they are dreaming the whole thing. With Mia, there comes more energy in Nick’s life and he finally decides to fight for his life. When a strange old man comes to Nick and tells him that Mia is in great danger, Nick knows what he has to do with the remaining days of his life. Nick decides to save Mia’s life because he cannot save his life and the life of the girl at the same time.
Mark Lawrence at one time makes all of us sad when we come to know that Nick is dying but when the boy fights for the love he surely boasts everything up. Matthew Frow’s narration will make the listeners remember Prince of Thorns and Red Sister.
Enthusiasm will never end in this novel which is more like a race against time. No matter how much Nick tries he is fully aware that he will not survive till the end of the mission but if Mia survives then it is everything for him.
