Gods are in business once again in this new episode of the series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. The Hero in this novel is a Celtic warrior who used to be known all over the kingdom for his bravery and warrior skills. Talon feared no one in his life and whoever tried to confront him died at his hands on the battlefield. One thing which he never expected was to kill the son of a god accidentally. Camulus the war god gets mad when Talon kills his son in the battle.
The war god curses the warrior and according to the curse all the family members of Talon will die in front of him and he will be able to do nothing. Carrington MacDuffie narrates how aggressive Talon becomes when he sees the blood of his little sister. Talon turns against the gods and sells his soul to the devil. Two thousand years pass in the same manner as Talon keeps on saving the human world from the creatures that try to destroy it.
Then he meets a girl named Sunshine who infuses in him the spirit to enjoy life. As he decides to enjoy his life a little, Camulus and other gods return to the land to reclaim their territory. Talon knows what he has to do i.e save those he loves and this time he must not fail.
Shadow Fallen and Night Pleasures were without the description of ancient gods. In this tale, the enmity continues for thousands of years and finally, in the end, Talon gets the chance to avenge his family. At the same time, he once again becomes worried about the girl he falls in love with.
