Fighting lost battles and tracking down dangerous killers are not new for Eve Dallas as this is a part of her daily life. After joining the profession of a detective she has faced situations that an ordinary mind cannot think about. Eve thought that she was well trained and equipped until she lands in a new case in which the criminal is really tricky.
She has been trying to catch that killer for a long time but she finds him ahead of her on every occasion. It seems that he is keeping an eye on her and he is closer than Eve thinks. During the ten years in the department, Eve has not confronted such a killer and this time her mind is not on the case properly. Her mind is moving elsewhere because of the presence of Roarke near her.
The man happens to be a billionaire and a perfect lady killer too but not in the real sense of course. He has charms that can take any woman by surprise and then she cannot resist at all. Eve is also attracted to that charming personality and she has stopped resisting as well. The man is also among the suspects so Eve’s instincts tell her to keep herself away from the man but she just cannot say no to the temptation.
J.D. Robb has a lot in this series and the character of Eve has decorated every part. Desperation in Death and Encore in Death is also loaded with murder cases. In most parts of this series, a killer is on the loose and it is up to our detective to catch that killer before it’s too late. Al the parts are narrated by Susan Ericksen who has given a perfect voice to the female character in the novel.
