Matched is the first chapter in a new novel series with the same title as this chapter, Matched. It is a YA romance novel that you would associate with the majority of the books that are written by Ally Condie. Matched stood as the bestselling novel in the New York Times and it was also the international bestseller. This achievement made Ally a strong novelist which all the young adult fans started to take seriously. You will have a highly enjoyable time with her other classy novels that include Reached and Crossed.
The narration was done for this novel by Kate Simses. She did an excellent job with a lot of good expressions and all. However, she still seems to be an inappropriate choice for the novel due to her preteen kind of voice. The main character of Cassia demanded to have a strong and mature voice for all the intelligence that she had. Nonetheless, you will still find a lot of positive things in the performance of Kate.
Cassia has always looked up to society for the sake of making them better and the right choices for herself. It was about everything such as what to watch, what to read, and what to believe, etc. Therefore, when the face of Xander appears on the screen at the Matching ceremony, Cassia knows that he is her ideal. But, this changed when she sees the face of Ky Markham for a little moment before the screen turned off. What will society suggest to her now?
Matches is a good novel and will pull you in the trilogy with its further chapters. The narration was good too but could have been better if Kat has come up with a much stronger voice for the character of Cassia.
