The duty of a Postmaster General is very simple as all he has to do is to keep the mail in order and make sure that everything is delivered to the right address. If the post is not delivered or it gets posted to the wrong address it is not a matter of big concern. Nothing is serious enough that might lead to bloodshed and then no one steal from a post office.
Thus for Moist von Lipwig i.e the Postmaster General nothing is very hectic and since the start of his career, he has improved the working condition of the Ankh-Morpork Post Office. Almost all the letters are delivered in time and to the correct addresses of course. No complaints are ever left on the table as unattended things.
Then a call from Lord Vetinari brings a change in the life and profession of Moist. The question by Lord Vetinari was simple i.e he asked Moist if he wanted to make some real money. The job at the bank could have been simple if it didn’t have any vampires in it and of course the manager that wants Moist in so many different ways. Terry Pratchett brings Moist in a very serious situation from the post of an ordinary Postmaster. The Royal Bank loses its gold in his watch and it is up to him to solve the case before it grows into a more destructive thing. Terry changes his way of describing events as compared to Terry Pratchett: BBC Radio Drama Collection and Going Postal.
Here we listen about more energetic things and war which is about to ring on the doorstep. Stephen Briggs goes quickly in the narration of this long story with a lot of strings attached to different things.
