The very long Riftwar series open here from this part when the orphan Pug comes to study magic from his peer. Kulgan is not an ordinary master rather he is the best among the rest and learning directly from him means rising to glory in quick succession.
For Pug life hasn’t been very easy but he has continued struggling hard for the fulfillment of the targets which he had in mind. Pug when comes to the court he is not only successful in getting a place among the greats of the time but he also finds love in the form of the princess.
This makes things tougher for him in the coming days because war is starting and it would be up to him to save the princess and that land that she commands. Pug’s magic is not of the common kind and it seems that he has some strange powers locked inside him of which he knows nothing about. The master enables him to use his powers in a better way but somehow it is noticed that Pug has not reached his true potential yet. In an open battle, his powers would be tested against the creatures that are coming to restart the war that ended centuries ago.
The enemy has been successful in opening the doorway to this galaxy and soon they would be appearing in bulk. Raymond E. Feist with Nicholas Guy Smith’s support in the narration starts this series from the call of war. In the coming days we will be listening to Magician: Master and A Darkness at Sethanon i.e the further parts of this series. Leaving this series incomplete is the biggest mistake that a fan would make because it is so awesome at every step.
