The resources coming to the human world are cut short and in the Great War the humans might lose their existence too. The hope for mankind rise in the form of the Space Marines who are connected to the Alpha Legion. This powerful group is well skilled in the art of warfare but no one can guarantee that the group is trustworthy.

They have shown that they can deceive their allies on critical occasions and if such an incident takes place now then the human race would be without any kind of defense mechanism left for them. Only a miracle can save the humans from the aliens who have come in real bulk this time and they are not aiming at a trial shot this time. Dan Abnett has woven a multilayered tale for the fans of First and Only and Horus Rising. No one can outclass Dan in suspense and thrill.

The story goes so fast that we feel as if we are in the middle of a space journey and everything is happening around us. David Timson has done well in the past and this book as compared to the past performances was below power. Still, the narration was clear and there was no waste of time in the pauses.
