Just Like Heaven

Just Like Heaven is a regency romance and historical fiction novel written by the #1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn. It was nominated for the Goodreads Choice Awards Best Romance. It is the first book of the Smith-Smyth Quartet, followed by A Night Like This. Julia is an author who needs to introduction, especially to the fans of the historical romance genre. If you’re looking for more titles from her, consider On the Way to the Wedding.

The narrator of this audiobook is Rosalyn Landor. She adds just the right amount of quirk to the novel and makes it even more interesting. She has narrated many books of the author and makes a good team with her.

Honoria Smythe-Smith is the daughter of the eldest son of the Earl of Winstead. She plays the violin as a member of the Smythe-Smith Quartet. She realizes how bad they are but laughs it off. There’s no reason to be mortified about it because that doesn’t achieve anything.

Marcus Holroyd has promised to take care of Honoria as he is the best friend of her brother. He has his work cut out for him because Honoria has decided to marry and her eyes are on the last unmarried Bridgerton, who’s a bit immature and lacking valuable experience. Marcus seeks the opportune moment to strike. He sees that her advances are spurned. That is when he swoops in and tries to steal her heart just in time for the musical gathering.

This is a sweet and quiet read without cheap thrills and chills added on by some authors that ruin the overall experience. It is a character study of family situations and proves to be a greatly entertaining book.
