H.G. Wells wrote the story quite long ago and then Jeff Wayne added some more spice to it. This is the story of aliens from Mars attacking the human world in the most deadly situation. The human forces are not fighting against the aliens rather everyone is running away. No one was ready for this invasion and we can say that the human world got caught unaware. The big machines with a gigantic structure that the aliens brought with them were ample to make the humans their slaves.
The humans start hiding on their own planet because they think that the end has finally approached. Sooner or later everyone would get caught and then the era of human domination will be over forever. Michael Sheen, Theo James, Andrian Edmondson, and Taron Egerton have narrated different characters in the novel. Getting so many narrators in this book was a great thing because there are so many characters in the story and separate voices were needed in order to understand them.
Each of the narrators has also made a special effort that his or her voice doesn’t get too high or low in comparison with the other. We can say that a situation like that in Of Honour and Iron is reached in the later part of the story but initially it is all about survival.
No one thinks of fighting against the Martians at the beginning of the story because they fail to comprehend what has happened to them. Then slowly they understand how to destroy big machines thus the war starts. The humans don’t seem to be winning but they show their true courageous selves in the middle and then the war becomes deadly at the climax.
