The war of the Spider Queen continues and no place in the world is safe from calamity. The group of heroes who decided to stand against the evil in the first part has survived till now. Though their survival is under threat in the second part still they march on with hope in their hearts. Going to the Underdark was never the right thing to do but still, they started their journey towards it. Now as they have landed in the Underdark, nothing looks quite hopeful to them and there is a chance that they might get killed in the process after which the enemies will start a new rule in the world above.
Heroic deeds are needed from which the face of the world would be redesigned forever. The dark elves are the only line of defense against the odds and on them the future of the world now depends. Every step that is taken should be in extreme cases, one wrong move can take everything away from the side of the heroes.
The land is open for an attack and a change in fortune is needed if the dark elves want to survive. Thomas M. Reid has written the second part of the series better than the first part. The Temple of Elemental Evil and The Crystal Mountain is full of evil plots that can bring horror like nightmares. Rosalyn Landorhe service as the narrator of the story is unmatchable for sure.
The narrator knew exactly where to put stress in the story and where to move on in a smooth way. The expression of the characters is further enhanced because of the narrator in every chapter
