Whether it is about serial killers or vampires. Anita Blake is always on the case. This has been her life i.e catching vampires and weretigers when they get out of control and become dangerous for the human world or for each other. Pacific Northwest is the next target of the serial killer and the police are sure that it is not a human rather they are dealing with a monster which makes it a case for Anita Blake.
The bogeymen of the vampire world are here and this is a threat to the weretigers and the human police at the same time because both of them are being hunted by these creatures. Anita fails to understand the pattern or motive of the killers initially because they seem to be acting like savage beasts.
Quickly Anita recognizes that it is all a smokescreen and the real motive of the leader of these killers is something else. Actually, they wanted to bring Anita to that place because their leader has certain scores to settle with her. Laurell K. Hamilton has made Anita such a character that she likes challenges. She is not the kind who will just get scared or tempted easily.
If it is a war then the enemies will find out that Anita is the toughest warrior they have ever faced if they get out of the war alive. Kimberly Alexis’ superbly balanced voice was once again ample to make this book equal to Death of a Darklord and Jason. This is an action packed book and the character of Anita Blake was not explained a lot because this was not the first part of the series thus all of us already know her skills and powers.
